Panic Disorder

Panic disorder causes sudden, extreme feelings of intense fear.  Typically, these panic attacks can last from a few minutes to hours on the extreme end.  Sufferers report that they may feel like they’re having a heart attack or may feel as if something horrible will happen to them.

Symptoms of Panic or Anxiety Disorder

Sufferers will experience 4 or more of the following symptoms with 10 minutes.  It is common to have constant fear of having another panic attack:

  • Heart palpitations or chest pain
  • Feel as if your going to pass out or faint or feel dizzy
  • Stomach ache or pain or nausea and vomiting
  • Tightness in throat neck area, sometimes feel like choking
  • Afraid you may die or are dying
  • Feel as if you’re outside of your body
  • Rapid, shallow, and shortness of breath
  • Muscle rigidity and shaking
  • Sweating at inappropriate times (not exercising) or hot flashes
  • Tingling or numbness especially in extremities
